Controls Upgrade

Value: $210,000.00 | Duration: 6 Months

BSE was contracted by a world leading meat packer to replace the aging production floor controls infrastructure. The project was completed in two phases. The first phase included the replacement of 30 variable frequency drives with new VFD’s with onboard safe-torque-off and ethernet communication features. The second phase included the networking of the new drives, installation of a PLC to control the entire production floor, replacement of aging Stop/ Start stations with a comprehensive HMI, adding additional remote I/O to control the existing hydraulic control valves and the complete documentation and drawings for the entire floor. The project was completed over numerous weekends with little to no impact to production schedules. The entire project was completed on time and on budget and has positioned the customer to leverage the new infrastructure moving forward as they continue to improve and expand their operations.
